Today was a good day Elhamdulileh! I was starving but i eat only halal so... I found this spot on yelp, i called they told me it was halal so i went. On the walls, the doors, everywhere it says HALAL 100%, ZABIHA. I was so happy, i ordered a burger with chicken tenders and fries with a soda for $12, VERY GOOD and FRESH. SHAWN was super nice, i will be going there from now when i am in the area.
This place is clean but maybe that's because nobody was there. The bathroom was out of order. Where am I supposed to wash my hands before eating with my hands? I ordered food next door so my wife could use their bathroom to wash her hands. We came back and she ordered a chicken shawarma kabob. It was ok but nothing special. I only took one bite but it actually tasted like something I could have made at home without a recipe. There was almost no flavor to the chicken. I'm glad I decided to get food next door. My wife wished she had as well. I think if you don't have a working bathroom you should provide some way for customers to wash their hands.
Dont waste your money. I got there while barely they had a few customers. I order 2 gyro, on in plate and one wrap. After waiting for 25 minuets i asked for my food and she was i have one of them ready, do you wanna wait for the wrap? The food was very spicy and all i was tasting was spice. Also there is no trays, no plates, no salt and pepper, and ... Dont waste your money
Pretty tasty. Two stars off cuz the meats texture was a bit off sometimes and they didn't give us enough sauce even though we asked for extra.
Talk about an out of NOWHERE grand slam! If you read my reviews, you will notice that I eat a lot of Mediterranean food. I wanted some kabob and it was late so I opened up yelp and stumbled upon this place. Located in the loud, squawking, heart of Hollywood - right on the boulevard - I had to dodge drunk club rats and super ghetto people spilling over from a near by hookah lounge. Parking was a pain in the butt too, but I'm a 10 year, LA veteran. I can find free parking within two blocks of anywhere at this point. After the final level of weaving around a homeless person shouting at me to 'give him his teeth back,' I was in. The dude behind the register was watching Rap music videos of this artist I had never heard of. The place was empty. Not looking good. I ordered the Dubai special. Oh. My. God. It was FIRE. Possibly the best mixed shawarma I have had in LA. It was some type of lamb/Beef/chicken fusion meat chopped up and drenched in "Dubai Sauce." Woh! It was a creamy, tangy, smokey, wet seasoning rub akin to a very good curry and salty cool tzatziki sauce. I mixed it in with the rice and DEVOURED it. Solid hummus. Solid Falafel. I may not come back right away due to its location and I can almost guarantee that sauce isn't healthy - but don't miss this place. It's bomb.
I was in Hollywood for a meeting so ran down the street to grab a quick bite. The guy at the counter was super friendly, answered all of my questions, let me customize my order, and went straight to work making everything. You can tell he cared about making the customers order just right. I got the chicken kabob wrap with a little bit of savage sauce (hot) and white sauce. The chicken was juicy with great flavor which is impressive because a lot of places it will be dry and flavorless from being on the rotisserie all day. The white sauce steals the show, however, it is that good. Overall, I would definitely go back but add more white sauce.
This is a great place for Mediterranean food! The food was very delicious and had a lot of flavor. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from. The restaurant looked very clean inside. Also, the service was amazing! I will definitely be returning here soon!
I've had this placed bookmarked for a while now so I decided to place an order for delivery. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate with a side of rice and fries. I also asked for extra pita and got the spicy mango sauce. The meal was amazing! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the mango sauce was amazing too! The hummus that came with the meal was a large portion so I'm happy I ordered the extra pita for sure. If you're in the mood for good Mediterranean food or a kabob plate this is the place to go.
Reasons it took 20 min for my wrap ! What the fuck. Who's paying this guy to play his phone ? I wanna a job like this. I play my phone while the costumer waits hungry ... thank you for the bad experience !
We were actually on our way to get some late night pizza when we saw D's Dubai. The interior looked sparkling clean and the menu looked intriguing. I mentally bookmarked this place for a future dining trip. Fast forward to a few days later, we wanted something within walking distance to our hotel and more of a quick meal so D's was the way to go! The menu consists of sandwiches, plates and a small selection of dessert. The menu items are Middle Eastern/Mediterranean style, with shawarma, kofta, gyro, and falafel to name a few items. All the sauces sounded so good too. They offer white, green, mango and savage sauce with descriptions of the country origin and flavor profile. I didn't see a description for the Dubai mix on the main menu so I asked what it was. Turns out the Dubai mix is beef, lamb and chicken mixed with green, mango and savage sauce with your choice of mild or spicy heat level. Sounds pretty delicious to me! I got the plate with spicy heat level and chose my two sides (salad and falafel). The plate was a huge amount of meat with an equally huge amount of basmati rice. The salad had lettuce, tomato and red cabbage, and the order came with 2 pieces of falafel. The actual Dubai mix was incredible. I enjoyed the mixture of different meats and the three sauces mixed together provided the perfect blend of sweet, salty, and spicy punch. The heat level for me was perfect, maybe a 7 out of 10 for my palate. The rice was fluffy and light. I also enjoyed the cool crisp salad and the seasoning in the falafel.? The only negative about my meal was that there was a small, longish piece of plastic wrapping stuck in my salad that I had to pull out. Yuck. If you're craving for late night Middle Eastern food D's Dubai is a good option. Just be sure to check your salad before you dig in.
Great Halal Food on Hollywood Ave. Loved their Dubai Mix Wrap and Falafel Plate. Very Friendly Staff!!
The place was empty so we were hesitant to go in but I am glad we did. Best falafels ever! The restaurant looked super clean and the guy at the register was really sweet and friendly. I had the chicken kabob with white rice, salad, and the falafels and I really enjoyed my meal. The salad dressing was too sour for my taste but fly friend loved its lemony zest.
Popped in to use the restroom to escape the madness of Hollywood Blvd and on our way out noticed how clean and yummy the food looked. Ordered chicken shawarma. It didn't disappoint. Tasted fresh and the pita was soft and warm. The mango sauce had heat and it was so darn good. The only downfall was it took forever and a day. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the meat is already cooked on the spit so I'm not sure why it took sooo loooong. The portions are small but it's tasty food
The food was really good. I had the beef and gyro plate with hummus salad and white sauce. Skip the salad... I thought it would be more of like a Greek salad- I was wrong. Everything else was delicious. The only reason for the 4 star is because i do think it's too pricey for the food.
I was walking around searching for some food after my workout, and found D's Dubai Sauce. It was a slow night during the week. I was the only person inside. I ordered the chicken kabob wrap, which comes with 2 sides; I chose the hummus and salad. Please check out my photos. The wrap was really good, and the chicken was very tender. Had just the right amount of spices. I personally love the green sauce, which could be a bit spicy for some people. The side salad was good. I'm guessing they use a lot of lime for the salad? Prices aren't bad for the amount of food you get. Of course it's located on Hollywood Blvd, so parking isn't the best. Thankfully I can walk here from my place. This place is also super clean, and actually smells clean inside. I noticed it as soon as I walked in. I'm not sure what was here before, but I'm guessing it's pretty new. Oh...and it's open super late!
Is there any more amazingly delicious and savory flavor than exceptional Mediterranean, Halal meats? I'll answer that for you with a hard "No, there isn't." Sadly, not all Mediterranean food is created equally. But, D's Dubai Sauce is top-echelon. We needed Gyros and I was kind of in the mood for somewhere with atmosphere. But, right there on Hollywood Blvd was D's Dubai Sauce with stellar Yelp reviews. D's has a local, lunchtime cafe feel inside. The guy who helped us was super great, very friendly and helpful. The food comes in takeout containers, which is forward-thinking because we both could not finish our food. The Beef/lamb was epically tasty. The hummus superb, and the falafels were crunchy on the outside and soft like great cornbread inside. We tried the "white sauce" which I thought was Tzatziki, but D's guy looked at me and said "Nah, it's just white sauce." Whatever was in it, it was fantastic. Would totally come here all the time for lunch if I could. Highly recommended!
I've loved D's Dubai Sauce since they first opened because was one of the very reliable places in Hollywood to get food after 10pm and I could always count on them. Great food, speedy service, great customer service. The real reason I gave them 5 Stars is because I had an issue with one of the employees who broke policies in front of me and I wasn't comfortable buying my food there. I wrote a review about my experience and Ali, the manager, completely took responsibly for the issue. He got rid of the employee and took action where he needed to. He also provide me with an incredible experience and I will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend for food, but also for excellent customer service.
On February 13th, I stopped by D's Dubai Sauce around 10pm on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One of the best kabob places I've been to in Los Angeles. Must have their rice! The menu was large, decently priced, huge portion and excellent quality. This place is super clean and has a modern aesthetic. The ambiance feels nice. Highly recommend this eatery on Hollywood Boulevard and their legit open late on weekdays and even later on weekends. Warm and receptive welcoming. The service was pleasant and was given enough time to look at the menu with no rush is what I like a lot. Happy to be offered variety of sauces. The servers Mike and Mo were very accommodating, cute and friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I had their Chicken Kabob Plate was juicy and tender with the sauce was total mouthgasms. The rice is perfectly tasty like you can tell every time you take a bite and is served in an absolutely huge amount. And was glad to get two sides of salads. Amazingly fresh and crispy with a mouthwatering vinegarette. Definitely place that I would return to and want try more from their huge menu.
I'm a big fan of Middle Eastern food, and I was feeling like checking out something new, so I braved the suicide-inducing Hollywood Friday night traffic, found parking and wandered up to Hollywood Boulevard. When I arrived, there were several tables occupied, and up I stepped to the counter. I was feeling an urge for chicken shawarma, so I ordered the platter, which comes with a couple of sides. I selected hummus (which comes with pita) and salad. The counter guy asked if I wanted sauces, and I asked if they had garlic sauce. It doesn't sound like it was part of the regular set-up, but he said they'd give me some--which was nice of them--and then, after some discussion, I went for their white sauce (not spicy, and actually kind of sweetish) as well. However, when he asked what I wanted to drink, I asked for water. No water, unless I wanted to buy bottled water. I had to take medication, so I bought the bottled water, but not too thrilled about that. Isn't that a requirement that restaurants need to provide water...? In any case, I sat down to wait for my food. The first table had some kind of food residue from some previous meal, and then I moved to a second one, which also had something, so I moved back to a cleaner part of the first table. It wasn't too busy, and as tables cleared, I noticed that no one came out to wipe them. In any case, the food arrived, and it was generally A-OK. The hummus was fine, as was the pita. Rice was pretty tasty, and the shawarma again fit into that A-OK category. The white sauce was, if not addictive, at least good for slathering on the meat and rice, and the garlic sauce was again A-OK. The salad was nice and bright-looking, but definitely overdressed--as in drowning. As I finished it, what was left was a pool of dressing. In sum: the physical space is airy and reasonably comfortable, service is friendly and prompt when it comes to food delivery, the lack of water was a downer, tables could be cleaner, and the food is all right. Prices are a bit higher than other Middle Eastern spots in the area, and given my middling experience, I probably wouldn't race back. All in all, A-OK, but at least based on this one visit, I'm not as impressed as some of the other Yelpers.
Came here for lunch with coworkers based on the stars + reviews. Thoroughly disappointed to the point I question if these five star reviews are from real people. General Info They do not provide free water to their patrons. I understand they are not legally bound to provide free water but the intent, for sure, is to sell overpriced can/bottle drinks. The place was empty around 12:30 pm, yet it took about thirty minutes for the food to come out. We ended up taking it back to the office. Food As the name states, they are apparently known for their sauces. They are mediocre at best and they come in a small saucer container, not enough for your meal. If you want more, they charge you extra buck for it. Maybe I'm spoiled but most other local Med/halal places give you additional sauce for free or they leave the sauces out for you to add them yourself. I had the chicken shawarma wrap with fries and hummus. The meat was dry, fries were cold/soggy, and the hummus passable. Nothing like how the reviews made them sound like. Overall Based on the food alone, I would rate them at two stars. However, their pricing and all the small details really bring them down to one star. I suggest going to Feast Kitchen & Grill, Perfect Pita, Al Wazir, and Good Greek instead. Don't waste your money and time.
